Trevor’s First Haircut

After Babygarten this morning, we took Trevor for his much-needed first haircut.  His hair was long enough that we could get by tucking it behind his ears, but he still was irritated when it would tickle him, so he would play with it and end up will all sorts of things in it……bananas, pancakes, cheerios, you name it.

Of course, we started our morning out with Trevor’s favorite—pancakes (yes, they ended up in his hair by the end of the meal).  DSC03514

And then we headed off to Babygarten.

On our way from Babygarten to Norfolk, Trevor fell asleep, which gave us the perfect opportunity to get a before shot of what his hair looked like.

And then there was the haircut….We got through the best we could, Trevor did get scared and ended up having to sit on my lap for it, but the lady did a great job.

Beautiful Weather and a Built-in Play Yard

This week, the weather was absolutely beautiful.  As soon as Trevor and I got home from work on Tuesday, we headed outside.  The front porch of our house ended up being a perfect little built in play yard for Trevor so Shane and I could get some work done in the front flower beds.  While Trevor played, we pulled all the old, faded cheap-o mulch out and bagged it and then moved some rose bushes around.  Of course, Trevor cruised his way up and down the rails of the porch supervising us.

Busy Saturday

This weekend we had a busy Saturday…but not the bad kind of busy, the good, event-filled kind.

We all woke up around 7 and Shane cooked us our regular Saturday breakfast.  Trevor LOVES when daddy cooks, mostly because that means he gets to eat pancakes, and it is nice that I can relax a little bit.  After breakfast, we played for a bit and then thankfully got Trevor to go down for a morning nap.

After a morning nap, we took Trevor to the library downtown for Babygarten.  It was tons of fun!  There were about 20 kids there from about 3 months old to 18 months.  They went through a bunch of rhymes and songs, read a book and then let all of the kids have free-play for the remainder of the hour.  It was really nice for Trevor to have playtime with other kids, and we can’t wait to go back again this Saturday.

Once we got home, we had lunch and put Trevor down for a nap.  While he slept, Shane and I worked on the backyard getting more brush ready to get picked up with the trash on Monday morning.  Just when we thought we were going to call it quits with getting stuff done for the day, Mandy texted me to let me know that Target was having an amazing sale on the carseat that we had our eye on……of course, I saw this as a perfect opportunity to drive up to the new Peninsula Town Center to go to the Target there.  It was AMAZING!   We got Trevor’s carseat and then headed home to make dinner and install it into my car.  We pulled out our grill and fired it up for the first time in forever and got everything taken care of before we headed to bed for a long day of work and duty on Sunday.

ok, so i know this isn’t the most attractive picture ever of Trevor, but right before I snapped this Shane was making fun of me for being ‘that mom’ that takes pictures of her child in the middle of a store….this is the look that he gave to shane—I 100% think that he was thinking “lay off of my mommy!”DSC03476

Walking….with help

Weekend before last my parents drove down to visit for the day.  As a Valentine’s Day present, they brought Trevor a walker toy that will convert to a ride-on once he gets a bit bigger.  At first he just played with the activity toys that are attached to it, but by the end of the week he had started actually walking behind it.  DSC03482 DSC03483 DSC03484
