Christmas

Spending Christmas in Connecticut always makes the holiday a MILLION times better.  This year, we even had some snow, which made everything almost perfect!  We drove up the day before Christmas Eve and were able to get a good couple of days with family.  Of course, my camera battery was not fully charged, I didn’t bring my charger and the colder weather up there drained my battery faster than usual….SO, enjoy Christmas…through the moment right before the boys started opening gifts.

Advent Pageant

Trevor was not a runaway animal this year and actually participated in our church’s Advent Pageant (kind of like a Christmas Pageant, but no Baby Jesus since he technically isn’t born yet when the Pageant takes place….I digress.)  Do we remember the story of last year’s rogue sheep?  Yeah, no more!  Trevor was a great donkey…..even when he announced that his tail was bothering him while the kids were sitting down.

It’s the Holiday Season!

We had a great time decorating this year and Trevor really got into the Christmas spirit!  He especially loved his light up Christmas tree that he could turn on and off each morning when he got up to get ready for school!

Our house all lit up, so pretty!  (And for the first time in four Christmases, pretty inside and out!)

Disney Live

At the beginning of December, we took Trevor to see a Mickey Mouse live show at the Ted.  It was Trevor’s first time at an event like this and he had a great time!

Thanksgiving

Per usual, we spent our Thanksgiving in CT with my family.  Shane had to work late so we didn’t get up there until almost 2am on Thanksgiving morning, so we were able to get a couple hours of sleep (maybe four?!) before getting up and running the Stratford Turkey Trot.

hello, 6am.  we are not friends.

The rest of our trip was spent with the usual Thanksgiving dinner, backyard football games and tons of time with cousins…and maybe even a trip to a park in search of an alligator.

the big reveal

Since the Halloween post showed the new cabinets, and I am not entirely sure we are going to get our act together to have an open house before Christmas, I give to you:  the kitchen.

To refresh your memory, here is the original kitchen:

Halloween

This year Trevor was super excited about Halloween.  He had to choose between being Woody, Buzz Lightyear or a firefighter.  Since everything in our world is firefighter related, he had an easy choice. As usual, we carved our pumpkin the day before Halloween and went trick-or-treating with our friends.
