Thanksgiving

Per usual, we spent our Thanksgiving in CT with my family.  Shane had to work late so we didn’t get up there until almost 2am on Thanksgiving morning, so we were able to get a couple hours of sleep (maybe four?!) before getting up and running the Stratford Turkey Trot.

hello, 6am.  we are not friends.

The rest of our trip was spent with the usual Thanksgiving dinner, backyard football games and tons of time with cousins…and maybe even a trip to a park in search of an alligator.

the big reveal

Since the Halloween post showed the new cabinets, and I am not entirely sure we are going to get our act together to have an open house before Christmas, I give to you:  the kitchen.

To refresh your memory, here is the original kitchen:

Halloween

This year Trevor was super excited about Halloween.  He had to choose between being Woody, Buzz Lightyear or a firefighter.  Since everything in our world is firefighter related, he had an easy choice. As usual, we carved our pumpkin the day before Halloween and went trick-or-treating with our friends.

the signs of a well-rounded child.

And I am not talking about T-rex. This time, it is me!  My parents should be so proud, here is the evidence that they raised a well rounded child:

I may be pretty in pearls…..

kc (church lady, what?!)

But I am a BEAST with a sledgehammer!

That’s right folks, that WAS my kitchen.  Floors go in tomorrow and after a coat of paint and a backsplash we are done-zo.  Oh, you want to see what the kitchen looks like?! Sorry! Final product only. :) Give it a week.

And I realize as I type this that putting these out for bulk pickup the first trash day after the hurricane probably made my neighbors think that we had some damage.  Womp.

Birthday Bonanza

(a week late)

Shaner really came through this year and surprised me big time for my birthday.  My birthday fell on a Monday this year, but Shane made arrangements with our friends (who are amazing, and we are returning the favor just as soon as I have a floor back in my house) to watch Trevor Saturday night so we could go up to the Williamsburg Winery and out to the Melting Pot for dinner.  It was great!  Sunday my parents came down for the afternoon and Monday….well, Monday I went into the office for all of three hours and then spent the rest of my actual birthday in pajamas working from home on the couch.  It. Was. Glorious.

Petting Farm and Pumpkin Picking

This past weekend, we went out to Hunt Club with the FRG.  Trevor had a great time and we got a GREAT pumpkin for the front porch.
