The weekend started with Shane's parents arriving on Friday afternoon with Kansas. Once we met up with them, we headed back to our house so that they could spend a little time with Trevor and get to now their grandson for a little while. For the evening, we headed out to Sandbridge to see my parents and brother at the condo they were staying at and wait for the rest of my family to arrive from Connecticut. Saturday everyone met back up at the condo, and because the weather was so beautiful, everyone headed down to the beach. Shane and my brother even dared to get in the water to swim and do some skim boarding. Sunday morning, we started our day early and everyone headed to the church for the actual baptism. Liz, my best friend growing up and Trevor's godmother, met us there. It was so good to see her--she had flown in from Iowa just for this, and we hadn't seen her since our wedding in December 2006 so it was wonderful to reunite with her. The ceremony was beatiful--Trevor did wonderful for it all--even when Father Dan took him to hold him during the homily. He didn't make a sound--except for when he was immersed in the baptismal font to actually be baptized. Later that afternoon, everyone came over to our house to celebrate. Trevor slept through most of his party, but everyone else had a great time. Trevor woke up for a little while towards the end of the night for us to open up all of his gifts, but by the time everyone headed out, he was back to sleep--which Shane and I can't argue with, because we were exhausted too! Today both of our parent's stopped by the house so that we could say goodbye before they headed home for good. By noon, everyone was gone, so we put the baby down for a nap and passed out ourselves. We had an amazing weekend and are so blessed with such a wonderful son, loving family and caring friends. Trevor is an extremely lucky little boy to have all of these people to love him and be in his life.
(I am exhausted, so all the captions for the pictures are underneath them)
